JOB TITLE:                Finance Officer

MAJOR FUNCTION: 
 

• Responsible bookkeeping work in compiling and maintaining fiscal records and accounts

 
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:
 

• Balance Accounts
• Receive and process all revenue
• Balance cash register daily
• Prepare bank deposits
• Prepare purchase orders
• Verify and prepare invoices for payment for various accounts
• Issue checks and produce reports
• Post and maintain daily transactions for various accounts
• Post and maintain monthly totals for various accounts
• Reconcile bank statements for multiple accounts
• Order Office Supplies
• Data Entry into vehicle fuel software
• Performs related work as required

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
 
 

• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures
• Ability to apply such knowledge to accounting transactions
• Knowledge of the administrative and procedural regulations applicable to the department
• Ability to make arithmetic calculations rapidly, and accurately
• Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
• Ability to type at a prescribed rate of speed (30 wpm)
• Ability to operate data entry equipment

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
 

• Graduation from an accredited high school, or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
• Two years of experience in bookkeeping work
• A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualification
• MUST HAVE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE  EXPERIENCE
