DEPUTY SHERIFF
This position is shift work, twelve hour shifts to include working nights, holiday and weekends. May be required to work irregular hours, unusual shifts and unexpected overtime.

CERTIFICATION BONUS OF $5,000. THIS IS DETERMINED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR $300 PER YEAR OF EXPERIENCE PAY, UP TO $3,000 IF YOU HAVE
WORKED AT ANOTHER AGENCY AS AN FDLE CERTIFIED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, HAVE
LEFT THAT AGENCY WITH NO MORE THAN A 12 MONTH BREAK IN SERVICE, AND LEFT
WITH HONORABLE CONDITIONS

Requirements:
- Must be currently certified in the State of Florida as a Law Enforcement Officer.
- Current Law Enforcement Academy students are eligible to apply once they are half way through the academy course
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License
- Must possess a valid High School Diploma or GED
- Must not meet any of the disqualifiers as indicated in the employment application
- Citizen of the United States
- 19 years or older for sworn positions
- If served in military, must have honorable, uncharacterized, or general with honorable conditions military discharge
- Must be able to type 20 wpm
Benefits:
- Annual Salary is $47,518.92 base, with the addition of holiday compensation of $2,838.23 for a total salary of $50,357.15 (non-shift working employees do not receive the holiday compensation)
- Those sponsored for the academy will receive $41,543.92 until they pass the class and the State Exam and then will be paid at the above listed rates.
- Vacation and Sick Leave

- Florida State Retirement, if eligible, must contribute 3%
- Direct Deposit
- Salary incentive for Associates, Bachelors, Masters, EMT or Paramedic, foreign language skill
